I was just wondering if there are any estimates as to
when the below mentioned XML schema for declaration of
versification variations will be released:

"BTG intends to develop an XML schema for declaration
files that can express such systems, and their mapping
to other systems. This work has not been completed.
However, we have reserved names for the major
versification systems, see: XML and OSIS declarations
above."

Here are major standards for versification used by UBS/Paratext that 
should be supported eventually by OSIS.

Versification identifies the versification scheme. It is one of the following
types. 
The default Versification is English.

Code
Description
Original
Like Greek and Hebrew text
Septuagint
Like LXX Greek OT text
Vulgate
Like Latin Vulgate
English
Like RSV
Custom
User specified custom versification NOT IMPLEMENTED YET.

Do you have any idea when this versification XML
schema will be released (even the most vague
estimate)? Is it more likely to be 2-3 months? 3-6
months? 1 year?

A new schema is due out by years end. It may or may not have 
versification. But I am wondering if you are thinking that the schema is a 
tool that will validate all the different versifications or a tool that 
will switch between them.... it won't... that is the place for another 
tool. UBS has done a bunch of work in this regard already.
