Can you explain what an interlude is?  (Possibly and example we could
look at.)

Interlude description
Usage: Interlude identifies a line that suggests a pause to reflect. It is
found in the 
Psalms and Habakkuk. Words that suggest a pause include Selah, Interlude 
(NLT), Quiet Interlude (NLT), Higgaion Selah (NIV), Pausa (NVI-P), and 
Interlúdio Pausa (NVI-P).

they have different uses in some eases?

In the January OSIS meeting we discussed the \qc format marker and there
did not seem to be any clear meaning other than format a line of poetry
as centered.

The resolution was for this case to allow the following:

<l type="unknown" subType="centered">

Similar case for \qr. 

Are you suggesting that \qc is ALWAYS a "doxology"?

Because \qs is a defined concept (although no one seems to be clear on
what "Selah" really means) we are adding <l type="selah">.

In my research the valid use of \qc is for 'Doxology'. Invalid uses may 
exist.

In the USFM 1.5 user guide \sc is defined as "Smallcap" and
"DEPRECIATED".

As "small cap" these format marker would be valid.

When you combine \qc or \pc  and \sc what you are really saying is 
Inscription Paragraph.


\sc is also used for B.C. and A.D.      In TE these are Abbreviation


Inscription Paragraph description
Usage: Inscription Paragraph identifies a paragraph of an inscription.
An inscription can be on a wall (Daniel 5:25), a sign (Matthew 26:37; Mark 
15:26; Luke 23:38; John 19:19), a plate (Exodus 39:30), on the bells of 
the horses (Zechariah 14:20), written on her forehead (Revelation 17:5), 
or on his robe and on his thigh (Revelation 19:16).
To identify a few words of an inscription in a paragraph, apply Inscription. To
identify a few words of text inscribed in a foreign language, apply Inscription
Foreign.

As Todd mentions, we're already planning to add a type for this concept.  
I'm inclined to support 'selah' rather than 'interlude'.  The main reason
is that 'selah' is purely descriptive.  It indicates that lines translated
from the Hebrew word selah should be marked with this value. 'Interlude'
is extremely interpretive since, as Kirk pointed out to us at the last
couple of meetings, no one is really certain what selah means.  I think
'interlude' is also much more vague.  Seeing each of them in a list of
enumerated types, I would know immediately when to use 'selah', but would 
assume 'interlude' was nothing I would ever need unless I read and 
remembered its documentation.
